Saints / Vikings: The Playoffs
The Saints / Vikings game delivered — what a playoff game should be. The matchup had a sentimental pull — from both ends. The Saints are now called America’s Team, after Katrina, and the old warrior himself, Brett Favre, is still out there, and lovin’ it.
I was sorry to see Favre get so knocked around. He was reeling. The final mistake — his cross court pass — just a disastrous reminder of his impulsive, interception laden earlier days. Ironically, he had said in a pre-game interview that he had matured and makes better decisions now. His record this year reflects that, but with the battering, his exhaustion, he reverted to old, bad habits. It looked like he could have run ten yards and out of bounds. A field goal, and a win.
I was glad the Saints won though. They are a terrific team, with a great quarterback. They will give the Colts a battle. It looks like Indy will win the Super Bowl though. The Saints could hardly contain the Vikings. How can they contain Manning?
